For most items, we don't charge overdue fines. The only time you will receive an overdue fine is when you keep a reserve item past the due date. (Reserve items are the materials available for shortened checkout periods, mostly textbooks, videos for classes, and laptops.)
For all other items, we email you an overdue notice at one week, letting you know that you need to return or renew your materials. Once a checkout becomes more than three weeks overdue, we will send you a bill for the cost of the item plus an additional processing fee and put a block on your campus account, meaning you won't be able to register for classes or order transcripts until you return your library materials. But there's good news! Just return your materials and we clear all fees and fines and unblock your campus account.
