The easiest place to start is the nursing libguide http://libguides.lccc.wy.edu/nursing.

Under the journal articles tab is a list of databases appropriate for this topic. If there is an option to search specifically for an author who is a nurse, the directions on how to do that are listed under each database.  Once you have searched for an article, or in the beginning of the search, you will have an option to limit by publication date to the last 5 years.

"Evidence based" refers to your topic. You need to pick an evidenced based practice related to your topic. For example if you are looking at diabetes in the geriatric population, an evidence based practice may be rehabilitation programs and physical/occupational therapy. For ideas on an evidence based practice read overview articles on your broad topic in Gale Virtual Reference Library or another reference source listed under the "Reference Sources" tab in the libguide.
